The Second Quotation Story
Another quotation story made up exactly as the first one, only this time I did it on my own.
On such a breathless night as this I was standing by a river. I had to go down to my boat on the river, but I had heard a piper who had led me on, down the bank, so I was standing there watching the stars move slowly on the dark sky and the moon smiling alone. I was standing in the moonlight shadow and suddenly, there was a girl passing by in a boat, and there were stars of lovingness in her hair. I saw her take off on the other side and rushed off to find a way to get across. I found a ferryman and didnt pay him before he got me to the other side, so he took me there quickly. Then I realised I was so tired, and I fashioned a house up in a tree and slept there till the morning came.
I was awakened by the sound of dewdrops falling, and with the day came the resolution: Ill be looking for her. I got off my tree, ate a hot-dog and went down the road asking everyone to show me the way that the girl had gone. But shes a maniac! everybody said, and I thought: you may be right, for all I know, but you may be wrong. It was Monday. Mondays are usually good to me, although its Fridays that I fall in love most of the time. I stared at the sun, and it was four a.m. in the morning. And so I walked and walked, and suddenly somebody called me, I answered quite slowly - it was that very girl! I realised I was falling in love, cos when she called my name it was like a little prayer in my ears. How do you know my name? I asked her, and she said: It was written in the stars. I looked at her and I lost my way - she had rainbow eyes... Who are you? I asked her, the White Queen? Or the Dark Lady? And she answered: If you dont know me by now, you will never know me. But how can I know you? I asked. Listen to your heart, she said. Looking into my heart, I found that all of my love - whole lotta love - was all hers. They call me the Wild Rose, she said. I was standing there like a fool in the rain and felt my heart becoming a heart of glass - transparent to her, very fragile and vulnerable. Im a logical kind of guy, and so I pledged myself to her. But she disappointed me like hell, saying: Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken? I nearly died, but I knew how to hide all my sorrow and pain: pretended I was doing well and my smile still stayed on, but inside I felt I was fading like a goddamn flower. I realised I had to run, run away and begged her give me horses to trample down my enemies. She gave me a horse and said: If you really love me, come on and let it show. Please, please me. Oh girl, I thought and rode away, and I felt like I was on a highway to hell, thinking of how a wise man had said: Love bites! Love hurts! See what a fool Id been? I didnt know then that the power of love is a power above all others, and the things we do for love can change both life and the way we feel.
To prove to myself that I didnt care anymore, I went to fight in a war and started to struggle for the freedom in that land (it had been invaded by the people who ran like thieves and killed like knives, they came from the north, from the east, from the south and from the west). I was lucky, I stayed alive and we drove the enemy away. The army came triumphant into the capital of the land - the City of Angel. We rode down the Street of Dreams, past the House of the Rising Sun and the House of Fun, and everywhere people were dancing in the streets and singing love songs. As we went down the Bourbon Street, I saw my love and realised how Id been missing her. I was a soldier of Fortune and thought that love was meant for someone else, but not for me, and moreover - Id been so elegantly wasted by her! But the moment I saw her face again I realised I was made for loving her. So I called to her: Everything I do, I do it for you! - and believed it myself. She asked me to come in from the cold. She was all dressed in black velvet and there were tracks of tears running down her cheeks. Whats going on? I asked, and she answered, I thought you were dead and gone... I didnt wanna live without you. I couldnt believe this: So is this love that youre feeling then? She replied: Why cant this be love? Youre in my heart, youre in my soul, youre the apple of my eye. Im your lady, and you are my man... Then we were standing there together and I was listening to her careless whispers. Will you marry me, girl? I asked, and the answer was: Dont ask me what you know is true...
Well, so finally she became my Mrs Robinson and in my heart shes always stayed forever young. I know this love of mine will never die. I cherish this feeling. Together were strong, and we can live forever, because its an eternal flame and its a miracle... My sweet Lord! I just cant stop loving her, I always want to be close to her, to see her diamond rainbow eyes. Ive got my mind set on her, cos she gave me something to believe in. Now I know that heaven is a place on earth. In rain or shine Ill stand by her. Time keeps flowing like a river, but its still the same as when I first saw her in her boat. I love her just the way she is - shes always the woman to me. Its more than words...
